For owners of anonymous black suitcases, baggage carousels can be a source of anxiety. Paravel, a new travel-accessories brand offers an alternative: duffel bags, suitcases and packing accoutrements—made of colorful canvas, nylon and leather that’s resistant to water and stains.
“We saw a gap in the market between technical road-warrior luggage where form wasn’t necessarily at the forefront, and luxury brands with inflated markup for whom function wasn’t at the core,” said Indré Rockefeller, who co-founded the label with fellow fashion-industry veteran Andy Krantz. Paravel’s calling card is making travel easy with pieces like a suitcase that collapses flat and elegant packing cubes that keep underwear and socks neatly separated. “We want to create a system that takes worry out of travel,” said Ms. Rockefeller. And does so in style.
